Want to know a secret?
Not the secret….Smudge has been working hard on learning to trust people and not be as skittish. If someone is very patient with this little 2yr old, 10lb treasure, he’ll eat bits of chicken from your hand and allow you to gently pet him. Smudge is doing great but has a long way to go and, as of right now, that’s why we suggest an experienced adopter who can patiently work on building his trust and confidence.
Now for the secret!!! On Sunday, after a few volunteer sessions of chicken bits and petting, we later saw a potential adopter walking Smudge on a leash around the yard!!!! His little tail was wagging and he was prancing out proudly in front of her! Guess who Smudgie likes?? Children!! A little girl was able to get him to walk with her happily! He still wasn’t engaging with her quite yet but this was a huge step for this sweet boy!
