“Carolyn Sink Memorial Horse Show”
Saturday, October 24 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
We had to suspend classes in early March, and we are uncertain as to when many of our students will be able to return as many of our riders are immunocompromised. But we do know they will return, and we need to raise funds so that we can cover our horse care cost and provide scholarships that will keep our program cost-friendly for our riders. Our goal is $50,000.
We have decided to invite our riders, staff, volunteers and supporters to submit an essay and photo titled, “What HORSEPOWER means to me.” You can post it on your facebook or we will post it on ours. Either way, invite your friends to visit our site, www.Horsepower.org/shop and make a donation in honor of you or their favorite essays and/or donate directly to our general fund.
HORSEPOWER Therapeutic Learning Center is a non-profit organization serving the North Carolina Piedmont Triad community since 1995.
We are a PATH Intl. (Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International) Premier Accredited center that provides therapeutic horseback riding and equine-assisted therapy to over 300 individuals with disabilities, as well as able-bodied students, each year.
Our mission is to promote and enhance the welfare of individuals with physical, intellectual, and/or emotional disabilities through a program of therapeutic, educational, and recreational activities using horses.
We provide both challenges and rewards to people with physical, intellectual, emotional and social disabilities, including multiple sclerosis, autism, cerebral palsy, spinal cord injuries, Parkinson’s disease, Down’s syndrome, as well as victims of physical, mental or emotional abuse. Additionally, we offer leadership and team-building programs for able-bodied riders.
