Who are the Draper City Goodfellas? Rockingham County Sheriff announce bust

ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, N.C. — The Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office announced five arrests in a major crime ring spanning multiple North Carolina counties and even in Virginia on Friday.

Sheriff Sam Page said the group calls themselves the "Draper City Goodfellas."

Investigators said the men - all from Eden, North Carolina - targeted Rockingham County, Stokes County, Caswell County as well as places in Virginia. Page said they stole four-wheelers, lawnmowers, utility trailers, vehicles, and several guns.

Investigators began looking into the Draper City Goodfellas in January. Since then, Page said they've been able to close 65 cases and recover $150,000 in stolen items.

Page said the arrests are a reminder that property crimes can be solved when communities and law enforcement agencies work together.

“You can run, but you can’t hide, and we will come after you," Page said. "If you want to identify yourself as the Draper City Goodfellas, and you think that’s funny to you or says something good about you, we’ll come after the Goodfellas, too…and we will put you away."
