GREENSBORO, N.C. — An area of low pressure the WFMY Weather Team has been tracking has become much more defined, strengthening into Tropical Storm Arthur, the first named storm of 2020.
The current track of Arthur keeps it off the coast of N.C. and away from land. But some impacts will still likely reach the coast and Outer Banks by Monday.
At the latest advisory on Sunday morning, the storm was located just off the northeast coast of Florida about 380 miles SW of Cape Hatteras, NC moving N NE at 9 mph with sustained winds of 40 mph.
