Coming t oAsheboro,NC’s Bicentennial Park in the heart of the growing downtown is the first ever Jimmy-June Music and Arts Festival brought to you by Mindful Supply Co. and Four Saints Brewing Co. The free-to-the-public festival on April 27th, 2019 celebrates the music, art and culture of North Carolina and the South and hopes to bring a recurring event to Asheboro that all can enjoy.The day will be filled with great local food trucks, craft beers from Four Saints, artists and craft vendors, a cornhole tournament with prizes and a day long lineup of local and touring bands starting at 1pm and ending at 10pm.
Caleb Caudle, a Winston-Salem native and now international touring singer/songwriter, will be headlining the event with his unique brand of Americana music. Just off recording his latest album at Johnny Cash’s famous Cash Cabin recording studio and a stint touring Europe, Caudle will be ready to put on a great show for his home state right here in the Piedmont.
Justin Wells, formerly of the alt-country band Fifth on the Floor, will be co-headlining.
Wells has recently gained traction on the country music scene, along with others from his home state of Kentucky. His commanding vocals and thoughtful songwriting are sure to get the attention of any music fan.
The lineup of local artists showcasing their talents on the stage at the Jimmy-June Music and Arts Festival promise to be names to watch in the future: Whiskey Foxtrot of Winston-Salem bringing their throwback rock sound, Abigail Dowd of Southern Pines fresh off recording her new album “Not What I Seem”, Beau James of Greensboro and his roots rock sound, The Grand Ole Uproar of Greensboro with a style all their own and Nathan Pope, the young blues guitar virtuoso from Liberty.
The Jimmy-June Music and Arts Festival is in honor of Jimmy Saunders and Allan “June” Parsons of Troy, NC. They were the grandfathers of event organizer, Justin Saunders and the event is his way of honoring their memories.
Proceeds from the festival will go to benefit the Randolph County Family Crisis Center.
