WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — The Business 40 improvement project in downtown Winston-Salem is not only on track -- it's months ahead of schedule -- and could reopen in time for the holiday travel rush, according to the city's mayor.
"It would be a good Christmas present," said Mayor Allen Joines.
Joines made the announcement first on theWFMY News 2Good Morning Show Tuesday. He explained contractor incentives are contributing to the brisk pace at which the project is progressing.
