Police in Winston-Salem are investigating an accident that left two people dead and three children injured, one of them critically after a van and car collided.
The collision happened around 8:17 a.m. Tuesday morning in the 700 block of Clemmonsville Road. Police say Clemmonsville Road between I-40 and Old Lexington Road was shut down for several hours.
Reports say the accident was between a van with one adult and six children onboard and a car with two adults and two children.
The driver of a Lincoln Mark VIII, Latonya Carter, and one passenger in the car, 38-year-old Shameka Carter, were pronounced dead at the scene. Click here for more details from News 2
