Travis Frye and Blue Mountain is a multi-generational bluegrass band that honors the Appalachian roots of the music while adding a modern twist. With members spanning the foothills and piedmont of North Carolina from Mount Airy to Denton, the band incorporates spirited fiddle and banjo tunes along with modern selections from country, bluegrass, and gospel traditions. The band has performed on historic live radio shows such as The Merry-Go-Round in Mount Airy and the Rex Theater in Galax, Virginia, as well as shared the stage with Big Country Bluegrass and Lou Reid and Carolina.
