Beyonce Sings Medley To Honor Young Fan Who Died From Brain Cancer

Beyonce dedicated a special tribute in memory of a young fan who recently lost her battle with brain cancer.

After optimistically and bravely enduring her two-year battle with brain cancer and anaplastic ependymoma, teen sensation Lyric “Yhung” Chanel has passed away. The 13-year-old's family, who often documented Lyric’s day-to-day life amid her cancer fight, announced the difficult news to Lyric’s 639,000 followers on Friday (March 5).

Following the devastating news of Lyric’s death, Beyonce shared a special medley in Lyric's memory. In the tribute, the “Drunk in Love” star sings a capella renditions of songs like “Love on Top,” “Brown Skin Girl,” and “Halo.” The video clip also features several heartfelt photos and videos celebrating Lyric’s life as she sings and dances.

"Lyric it's you / You're the one I love / And you're the one I need," Beyonce sings in the tribute. "You're the only thing I see / Come on Lyric it's you / You're the one that gives your all / You're the one I can always call / When I need you baby everything stops / You put my love on top."

As those who adored her will recall, Lyric was a spirited member of Beyonce’s BeyHive. In September 2020, the Instagram star received a special gift from the “XO” superstar, who surprised Lyric with a bouquet of flowers and a heart-warming message of encouragement.

“Beyonce, thank you so much for these flowers. I love you, and I can’t wait to meet you!” Lyric said in the clip at the time, capturing her sweet reaction to the gifts.

Our thoughts are with Lyric’s family during this difficult time.
