Most Americans Say Finding A Good Shopping Deal Boosts Their Mood

Here's today's feel-good story:

53% of people said that they are a proud bargain-hunter. In a study of 2,000 U.S. adults, more than half, 54%, say that they consider being called "cheap" a compliment.

The study was conducted by OnePoll, and explored how far the average person would go to save some money and how finding a great deal makes them feel good.

A "good deal" is defined as having at least 50% off, but most people said that they are just as happy with a deal under that amount.

“In today’s economy and with the skyrocketing prices on consumer goods, it’s more important than ever that shoppers find ways to save money on a variety of items – both big and small,” said president and chief executive officer at Ollie’s, the commissioner of the survey, John Swygert.

“Shopping discount stores that offer bargain prices on brand name merchandise is a great way consumers can find good deals and save big.”
