High Country Lights

High Country Lights will illuminate the night sky in Felts Park for a sixth consecutive year in a row. The light display will be twice the size as last year with more features to enhance your holiday experience. Set up for the mega-display started October 5th. Some of those features include family photo opportunities, thousands of more lights, horse drawn carriage rides, and the City of Galax will have fireworks to ring in 2021 to top it off. This light spectacular kicks off the season one week early – November 20th at 6:00 P.M. and runs through January 3, 2021. It will be the only large event in Galax this year due to COVID-19 canceling other events. Admission is free. Donations are being collected to help local organizations purchase food for families during the holiday's.

With COVID-19 still plaguing the nation, guests will be able to safely visit the display. Drive up to Felts Park, tune your radio to 95.9 FM then sit back in the luxury of your vehicle and enjoy an hour's worth of music and lights choreographed together. If you decide to participate in photo opportunities, we ask everyone to social distance so we can celebrate a happy and healthy holiday.

Information about the display: it features more than 130K lights, the display area encompasses two football fields, dozens of Christmas silhouette figurines, 30 feet long lighted walk-thru tunnel, multiple photo-op areas, an hour long show synchronized to your favorite Christmas music, and special event nights.
