Muggy. Warm. Soggy. That's the trend over the next few days and through the weekend.
We have a stalled front to our north. That's the boundary between comfortable air to the north and tropical, muggy humidity to the south. We're on the muggy side, and that will mean some very sticky days all the way through the weekend and beyond.
With low pressure in our area, it's likely that each day will bring renewed pop-up thunderstorms that will be slow-moving. There's a good chance these storms could cause some localized flooding, especially if they sit over the same areas for a long time.
While a few storms could be severe with damaging winds, it appears a greater threat may be slow moving storms that will produce heavy downpours that will lead to flash flooding. Both threats will be watched closely by the weather team. With extra clouds, and the higher rain chance, high temperatures will be held to the mid 80’s. However it will continue to be rather humid with surface dew points at least in the lower 70’s.
Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Josephine has formed in the Atlantic. It will continue to move northwest through the weekend. It's likely that some harsh winds and dry air will weaken the system by early next week before it would ever get close to the U.S. We'll keep you posted.
The normal high is 87, and the normal low is 69.
