Triad schools to dismiss early due to threat of severe weather

ALAMANCE COUNTY, N.C. — Due to the threat of severe weather this afternoon, Alamance County Schools has announced students will have early dismissal. Elementary students will get out at 12:30 p.m. Secondary schools will get out at 1:30 p.m. If more school districts decide to dismiss students early, we will add the information to this story. 

SCHOOLS DISMISSING EARLY: 

  • Guilford County Schools: 3-hour early dismissal
  • Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools: Students get out 2 hours early on Thursday.
  • Alamance County Schools: Elementary students get out at 12:30 p.m. Middle/high school students get out at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday 
  • Rockingham County Schools: Elementary students get out at 12 p.m. Middle school students get out at 12:45 p.m. High school students get out at 1 p.m. 
  • Randolph County Schools: Closing 2 hours early on Thursday
  • Martinsville City Schools: Closing 2 hours early on Thursday
  • Carroll County Schools: Early dismissal at 12 p.m. Thursday
