GREENSBORO, N.C. — The tropics have gotten busy for the first time all year. Tropical Storm Erin is moving out to sea, but Tropical Storm Dorian is just getting started, and could be an issue for the United States through Labor Day and into next week.
Dorian will head toward Puerto Rico on Wednesday, bringing wind and rain to the small island by the afternoon and evening. It's not likely to be a devastating storm there, but strong wind and rain will likely cause flooding and other problems.
The most likely destination for Dorian is to hit Florida over the weekend, but even here in the Carolinas we should be paying attention. If the storm took more of a northerly turn, it could head directly toward northern Florida, Georgia or the Carolinas by early next week.
