I-73 South Bridge Closing in March for $3.9M Repairs after Tanker Fire

GREENSBORO, N.C. — The North Carolina Department of Transportation has announced a tentative schedule for the I-73 South bridge repair with warning signs to be posted Monday and the bridge to be closed in March.

In December, the bridge caught fire after an accident with a fuel tanker caused an explosion. The tanker was carrying 8,500 gallons of fuel when it overturned and caught on fire where I-73 South meets I-85 in southwest Greensboro.
