Concern for Ice Growing with Our Weekend Storm

Mixed bag, wintry mess, snow & ice, however you want to put it, the Triad is likely in for a sloppy and slipper weekend of winter weather. The WFMY News 2 Weather Team is tracking a growing risk for ice with this system. Here's what you should know now. 

We're cold and dry now, and will stay that way through Saturday morning. This cold air locking in is key to setting the stage for winter weather in the Carolinas. This storm is likely to be the type that has two areas of low pressure, one to the west, and one forming to the east. For us, that usually means we see a combination of snow, ice, and rain across our area. That's the mess we should plan on this time too.
