TARBORO, N.C. (WTVD) -- Parents of a fifth grader say their child was punished for calling his teacher "ma'am."
WTVD reports the parents of 10-year-old Tamarion Wilson said they noticed something was bothering their son when he got off the bus from North East Carolina Preparatory School on Tuesday.
When asked what was wrong, Tamarion pulled a sheet of paper out of his book bag, covered front and back with the handwritten word "ma'am."
