Trump signs executive order to end family separation at border

President Donald Trump signed an executive order Wednesday that he said would end the process of separating children from families after they are detained crossing the border illegally.

"We are keeping families together," Trump explained but said that the border will be just as tough and strong.

The effort marks a dramatic departure for an administration that has been insisting, wrongly, that it has no choice but to separate families apprehended at the border because of the law and a court decision.
