High Point Police say a 15-year-old boy has been charged with first degree murder in the death of 50-year-old Gene Aikens.
Gene Aikens was the father of 21-year-old Zachary Aikens, who police also plan to charge with first degree murder as well as four counts of attempted murder on a law enforcement officer.
Police say the homicide investigation led to an officer-involved shooting in High Point last Wednesday.
