Etta Wants a Home... At Last

Meet Etta

YOU MUST HAVE AN APPROVED APPLICATION IN ORDER TO SET UP A TIME TO MEET OUR PETS.Etta is a 5 year old, massively obese 27 pound girl who seems to be a Pug mix. She even has a cute, curly Pug tail! Her tail looks straight in her pictures since they were taken when she first came to us and was a scared, sad girl. Now that she is happy, it curls! She should probably be closer to 15 pounds. She just came to us from a chaotic home in which there were nearly 20 dogs and lots of people. Poor Etta did not seem to have been socialized and probably spent her time immobile in a corner, waiting for the chaos around her to settle down. She had very long toenails, curled around under her feet, probably making it very difficult to walk. She is also so overweight that it is hard for her to enjoy walking. She came to us acting stunned, practically afraid to move. She was a good girl at the vets office. She was spayed, her nails cut, and she also got a dental cleaning.Etta has come a very long way in the brief time since her rescue. She has quickly evolved into a darling pup who loves being around us and loves attention. She has done a complete about face, changing from a frozen and scared girl to a wonderful, sociable pup who is just so sweet! What fun to see her true personality evolve now that she realizes her life is good now. Now, she is acting so much like a Pug!Etta has also discovered that it is a lot of fun to run around in the play yard with the other dogs here. She loves the freedom of running around in the grass and enjoys the sunshine and company of other sweet dogs.Etta is a gentle, quiet girl who really just never had a chance at living a normal life and she is so delighted that she has that chance now.We have also discovered that Etta really likes the 6 year old child who comes to visit our rescue. Etta showers the child with affection and can not get enough of her. She should be fine in a new home with gentle children (no wild kids, please, since she has a soft personality).Etta will soon be learning other great skills such as walking on the leash so that she can take lots of good walks and work on getting her figure back. She really is a love of a dog, humble, affectionate, gentle and sweet. All she needs is a wonderful family who will introduce her to life as a beloved pet. She should be fine in a multi dog or single dog family.Adoption donation $125.Surfing petfinder?
