Two barbers in Connecticut are being hailed as heroes after they ran out of their shop to rescue a toddler who was running into traffic.
Osvaldo Lugo, one of the employees of LookSharp Barbershop in East Hartford, posted surveillance footage of the dramatic rescue on his Instagram account.
"This was a scary experience, I’m still a little shaken up," he captioned the clip.
In an interview, he said the day started off normal at the barbershop when his colleague, Rafael Santana, noticed a little girl running across the street heading straight into a busy intersection.
The two dropped their scissors, ran out the door, chased after the girl, and scooped her up in the nick of time.
According to a Facebook post from the East Hartford Police, the toddler escaped from their mother at a nearby bus stop and ran towards the traffic.
Lugo was able to find the mom and assist in the emotional reunion with her daughter. She was embarrassed but grateful.
